Downtown
The City of Charlottetown is steeped in history as the "Birthplace
of Confederation", where the first meeting of the Father's
of Confederation was held. This port city on the cradle of the
Nortumberland Strait is named in honor of Queen Charlotte of
England. Charlottetown is over 150 years old and was incorporated
as a city in 1855. The City's rich heritage is visible throughout
the downtown architecture, streets and landmarks. The City is
also a popular tourist destination and the entertainment capital
of Prince Edward Island, with theatres, festivals, art galleries,
tours, concerts and... of course... great shopping!
In the heart of downtown Charlottetown, the Shops of Confederation Court Mall is conveniently located across from Confederation Centre of the Arts, home to the renowned musical "Anne of Green Gables". We are in walking distance to all downtown hotels, inns and bed & breakfasts such as The Delta Prince Edward, Rodd's Charlottetown Hotel, Best Western MacLauchlan's, and Inn on the Great George.
